Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Candyway Escape ("we", "us") handles personal data when you play our game (the "Game"). We are the data controller for the information described here.

Information we collect

  • Account details — if you sign in: your email address and login credentials, or basic profile info from Google if you use Google sign-in.
  • Leaderboard entries — the player name you choose, your score, completion time and the date/week of the challenge.
  • Purchase records — which item you bought, transaction ID, price and date (we never see or store your card details).
  • Game progress and settings — levels, stars, boosters, streaks and sound/display settings. These are saved on your device.
  • Technical data — IP address, device and browser type, and error logs needed to run and secure the Game.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To provide your account, deliver and restore purchases (performance of a contract).
  • To show public leaderboards (legitimate interests — friendly competition is part of the Game).
  • To keep the Game secure, prevent fraud and fix bugs (legitimate interests).
  • To meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations (legal obligation).

Who we share it with

  • Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, which processes payments, handles tax and invoicing, and manages refunds. Paddle's own privacy notice applies to the data it collects at checkout.
  • Google (AdSense / H5 Games Ads), which shows optional reward ads you choose to watch. Google may use cookies or device identifiers to show and measure ads; see Google's privacy policy. Players who buy No Ads never see ads.
  • Service providers that host the Game, its database and sign-in system.
  • Professional advisers (such as lawyers and accountants) where needed.
  • Authorities, when required by law.

Your chosen player name, score and time are visible to all players on leaderboards. Please don't use your real full name.

How long we keep it

Account and purchase data is kept while your account is active and as long as needed for legal and tax purposes. Leaderboard entries are kept for as long as the leaderboard is shown. Data we no longer need is deleted or anonymised. Progress stored on your device stays there until you clear it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us and we will respond within one month.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your data.

Children

The Game is suitable for a general audience but is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Purchases should be made with a parent's or guardian's permission.

Cookies and local storage

We use only essential browser storage to keep you signed in and save your progress and settings. If you choose to watch an optional reward ad, Google's ad service may set its own cookies to show and measure that ad.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
